The Academy Award nominations are in and a total of nine movies were nominated in the best picture category. They are:

-The Artist
-The Descendants
-Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close
-The Help
-Midnight in Paris
-Moneyball
-The Tree of Life
-War Horse

Other nomination highlights include George Clooney and Brad Pitt both receiving Best Actor nominations. Best Actress nominations include Glenn Close, Viola Davis, Meryl Streep, and Michelle Williams

The 84th Academy Awards ceremony will take place Sunday, February 26, 2012 in Hollywood California.

Blu-Ray Get Hot, DVD’s Not So Much

American Idol Audience Down

The 11th season of Fox TV’s American Idol reality show got off to a slower than usual start with Wednesday night’s season premiere attracting 24% less viewers than last year’s premiere.

Even with the slow start the reality show easily won it’s time slot. This is the second year with Steven Tyler and Jennifer Lopez as idol judges along with Idol veteran Randy Jackson.

It’s early in American Idol’s 2012 run but it makes you wonder if programs like The X Factor, and NBC’s The Voice are taking some of the steam out of American Idol. Stay tuned.

Cincinnati’s March In Honor Of Martin Luther King Jr. [Photos]

A feeling that cannot be described filled the morning air at Fountain Square in downtown Cincinnati. A sense of purpose and belonging connected everyone crowding the block. Hundreds of people gathered together to pay tribute to a man who’s legacy lives on in our hearts and minds. Martin Luther King Jr. was born January 16, 1929. Each year we honor him to acknowledge how much he’s helped effect change in the country we live.

Radio One Cincinnati joined the march to Music Hall. We sang songs along the way, shared our thoughts and embraced the moment. Though the walk was short of a mile, it was powerful with every bit of emotion flowing through those his pressed forth. It was truly a magnificent sight to see young, old, black and white smile and move in the same direction together.

Ceremonies began at the Nation Underground Railroad Freedom Center, followed by a stop on Fountain Square, and then the march to Music Hall!

Evelyn Champagne King is a multi-platninum recording artist. She’s best known for her R&B/disco records Shame, Love Come Down, and the 80′s classic I’m in Love. Evelyn’s debut project Smooth Talk in 1977, and has a total of 12 studio albums to her credit.

In August of 2007 Evelyn released Open Book, her first album after 18 years. The Dance reached #12 on the Hot Dance Club Play charts. On MOJO 100.3 you can catch this divas voice in rotation!
