The one thing that makes my holiday so cheery and bright is watching my strong wife live each and every day to her fullest. My wife was diagnosed with Stage IV Lung Cancer last year and told that she may only have 12 months to live. Well its been 17months and she will survive 1,000′s more. Watching her stay strong each day and interact with our two children makes me happier than anyone can imagine. SHe brings joy to our daily routines and brightens up anyones day who may be dragging. She is my inspriation and the best person to have around to make a holiday bright and an enjoyment for all in the family.

What makes my holiday memorable is carrying on the tradition of sending Christmas cards to family and friends. Since I was 14 yrs. of age my granny (who’s now deceased) would sit me down, she’d take out her address book and have me hand write over 50 Christmas cards. She said it helped improve my penmanship, which she was right about. Now 13 yrs after her passing, I pull out her address book and send out Christmas cards to family and friends. Although, some have also passed away, new family and friends are added each year. This is what makes the holidays special to me. Thanks.

What makes Christmas memorable to me…Yes, I remember when I was younger it was about the gifts (toys) under the Christmas tree and waking up in the morning to see what Santa had left and having that BIG SMILE on my face because I got everything that I had asked Santa for..Now as I got much older (43) Christmas is all about GIVING…LOVE yet still see the smile on people’s face that are less fortunate than me. What I am talking about is on Christmas morning (in memorable of my mother whom passed away Jan. 24, 2006) I go to the Point Pavillion(Covington, KY) at 6am and go there wrap toys for the homeless, needy, and less fortunate people and serve dinner to them but the most excited moment is when we (the volunteers) stand at the position were we give away socks, underwears, blankets, t-shirts, or whatever welse that may been donated and the people comes though the line with thei bag and get what all that we have to give to them just to see their face have a SMILE on it because what we GAVE them may of been all that they have received on this Christmas Day so that is a Blessing to GIVE LOVE and A SMILE to somebody that is less fortunate than me and doing it all in memory of my mother because she used to GIVE during this time of year. Merry Christmas!!!
