On Saturday, August 21st, the day couldn’t have had any better mix of special guests, Cincinnatians and family from the midwest and abroad. The major mix of the day came from the weather itself. Forecasters all week claimed we’d see nothing but sunlight and high temps. It of course rained and drizzled nearly three times before legendary R&B/soul ensemble Rose Royce took to the Sawyer Point stage for their 45-minute set of oldies but goodies.
The sun, heat and blue skies all came out to party just in time for the group to hit the stage. I mean, literally right on cue. Nonetheless, Rose Royce, in true professional style, hit the stage and turned the outdoor party’s temperature right on up. Singing from their catalogue and roster of radio hits, Rose Royce gave the folks something they’d been waiting for – an afternoon of feeling good just before the sun began to hide behind the clouds again.
